Have a Dream

A wish for your future and the future of the world can begin with a dream.  Look at the past and present and imagine a better future.  Go from wishful thinking to making goals and a specific plan.  Next you must take action.
Martin Luther King viewed the past and the present situation as it was in 1963.  In his famous speech, "I Have a Dream," he stated, "Now is the time to make real the promises of democracy."  His dream was for the freedom and equality of all American citizens.  He mentioned specific goals: an end to segregation, equal access to public places, and equal voting rights.  He took many non-violent actions during his lifetime to help make the dream come true.
When we look at our society today, we want to maintain what is good but can detect problems and dream up solutions.  As we form a vision of what we think should be, we need to take action.  If we want change, if want a better world, we need to take responsibility to make it happen.
The same can be said of our personal future.  We want to sustain what is good and even make it better.  Sometimes, we see problems that need improvement.  Imagine what you want, make a plan, and take action.  Start by having a dream.
